Position Summary

Hailiang Copper is seeking a Multilingual Interpreter & Production Training Specialist to support clear communication and effective training across our workforce. This role will work closely with production, safety, and management teams to deliver training and interpret information for employees whose primary languages are English, Spanish, and Chinese.

The ideal candidate is bilingual or trilingual, comfortable on the production floor, and skilled at explaining technical and safety-related information in a clear, practical way.

Key Responsibilities

Interpretation & Communication

• Provide real-time interpretation between English, Spanish, and Chinese for:
  • Production meetings
  • Safety meetings
  • Trainings and audits
  • Supervisor–employee communication
• Translate written materials such as:
  • Safety procedures
  • Work instructions
  • Training presentations
  • Company policies

Training & Workforce Development

• Deliver hands-on training to production staff on:
  • Safety procedures
  • Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • New processes or equipment
• Adapt training content to be culturally and linguistically appropriate
• Support onboarding of new production employees
• Assist supervisors in reinforcing training on the floor

Collaboration & Support

• Work with HR, Safety, and Operations teams to identify training needs
• Help ensure consistent understanding of expectations across language groups
• Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Fluency in Chinese, Spanish, and English
• Experience interpreting in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Comfortable working on the production floor
• Basic understanding of manufacturing or industrial safety concepts
• Ability to explain technical information clearly to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a trainer, interpreter, or lead/operator
• Knowledge of copper, metals, or heavy manufacturing environments
• OSHA or safety training experience
• Translation or interpretation certification (a plus, not required)

Work Environment

• On-site role within a manufacturing facility
• Regular interaction with production staff
• May require PPE and time spent on the shop floor
