As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will help enterprises solve complex distributed database challenges by guiding evaluation, adoption, and implementation of advanced technologies. You will work closely with account executives, product managers, and engineering teams to deliver technical solutions that drive customer success. The position requires hands-on experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and modern application stacks. You will act as a trusted advisor, presenting tailored demos, leading proof-of-concept engagements, and translating technical capabilities into business value. This is a high-visibility role with impact across global enterprise accounts, offering autonomy, collaboration, and growth opportunities.
As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will:
- Partner with account executives to qualify opportunities, understand customer requirements, and drive technical sales efforts.
- Conduct tailored product demonstrations, architecture deep-dives, and hands-on workshops for prospective customers.
- Lead proof-of-concept (POC) engagements, collaborating with customer engineers to design, deploy, and validate solutions in real-world environments.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor on distributed databases, cloud-native architectures, and application design best practices.
- Create and maintain technical collateral, including presentations, whitepapers, and demo scripts, to support sales initiatives.
- Act as the voice of the customer by providing feedback to product, engineering, and support teams.
- Represent the company at industry events, webinars, and technical meetups.
Candidates should bring:
- 5+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar in enterprise software or infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of databases (SQL, NoSQL), distributed systems, data replication, and high-availability architectures.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Familiarity with modern application stacks (e.g., Spring Boot, Node.js, Golang, GraphQL).
- Proven experience with distributed SQL technologies such as YugabyteDB, AuroraDB, Google Spanner, or Azure Cosmos DB.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of simplifying complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Passion for customer success with a track record of driving technical sales wins.
- Experience with open-source software solutions is a plus.
