About This Position
Phoenix Senior Living is seeking an HR Business Partner to join their Home Office team!
The Human Resources Business Partner reports directly to the VP of Human Resources, with strong relationships with the Regional Directors of Operations.
PURPOSE
The HR Business Partner is responsible for establishing strong partnerships within the Regional and Community leadership teams, and identifying and delivering HR-related guidance, processes and tools in support of employee and business needs. The HR Partner serves as a consultant to management on human resources-related issues.
The partner helps to develop and implement better people management practices. The Business Partner leads and manages the people management related agenda for the field. The BP acts as the HR lead on a range of different projects and responsibilities in the field.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
COMMUNICATION
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
HUMAN RESOURCES
HR Legal/Employee Relations/Compliance
- Designs, administers, interprets, and enforces HR policies and procedures.
- Investigates Associate Relations Allegations of a serious nature
- Acts as an Associate Relations Coach and Advisor for the managers in the Community and for department VP’s and Directors.
- Functions as a lead point-of-contact for legal compliance with in the region.
- Manages conflict
- Creates sustained solutions to individual Associate challenges
- Assesses trends in Associate Relations and develops strategies for continuous improvement.
- Manages leaves of absences including FMLA.
- Manages and monitors the company employee hotline and responds and addresses any complaints or grievances received.
- Consults with the field on all matters of employment law like FMLA, FLSA, ADA, Title VII, EEO, etc.
Training
- Participates in various HR trainings for Executive Directors and Department Heads
- Serves as a member of the Phoenix faculty group and facilitates assigned classes
- Identifies skill gaps in the field, and provide the Training team with feedback to support the skill development
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Applies state and federal HR laws to the work environment
- Understands and can communicate various benefits plans available to associates (and corresponding laws)
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Project leads any assigned new acquisitions
- Project manages any assigned events to plan like the annual golf outing
- New projects as assigned
HRIS
- Assists assigned communities with first line HRIS issues and questions.
- Collaborates on and implements and manages internal communications through Community Plus in the HRIS.
- Drives the Performance management process in the communities and is the subject matter expert for the performance management module in the HRIS.
PUBLIC RELATIONS/MARKETING
- Strives to educate the community at large about Phoenix’s unique approach to senior living services
- Recognizes opportunities to market PSL and communicates and acts upon them
- Views the associates at the communities as the customers
RECRUITING
- Participates in the recruitment process as needed
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Has expert knowledge of state and federal HR laws
- Understands and can communicate various benefits plans available to associates (and corresponding laws)
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
- Possesses a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to multitask and complete projects in a timely manner
- Ability to act as a team player
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE- CERTIFICATICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 5-7 years’ experience of progressive responsibility in Human Resources preferably in senior living, hospitality, or similar.
