About This Position

Description:

SUMMARY:

The Application Support Engineer is responsible for the ongoing support, performance, and integration of enterprise software applications across the organization. The role ensures system reliability, data integrity, and secure data flow through application maintenance, system integrations, reporting, and coordinated upgrades. This position works closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve complex application issues, support operational needs, and continuously improve application functionality while maintaining compliance with security and data standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides application support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for enterprise software platforms to ensure system availability and performance.
  • Evaluates application performance and integration effectiveness, identifying issues and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Maintains and supports enterprise applications, ensuring minimal downtime and reliable operation.
  • Coordinates application access, permissions, and configuration changes in accordance with security standards.
  • Reviews and maintains application workflows to ensure alignment with operational requirements.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains integrations between software applications to enable secure and accurate data flow.
  • Tests integrations, updates, and enhancements to validate functionality, data accuracy, and system stability.
  • Works with REST APIs, webhooks, and related integration technologies to streamline operations and data synchronization.
  • Develops, customizes, and maintains reports and dashboards to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Monitors system logs, alerts, and data flows to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes software updates, upgrades, and deployments.
  • Coordinates with software vendors for updates, patches, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Partners with internal stakeholders to support application functionality and continuous improvement.
  • Provides escalated application support to IT Help Desk staff and end users as needed.
  • Participates in special projects, including application enhancements, integrations, and IT infrastructure improvements.
  • Documents system configurations, integrations, processes, and support procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with data security, confidentiality, and ethical standards in all system access and work performed.
  • Supports data integrity by validating inputs, outputs, and synchronization across integrated systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 4 years of experience supporting enterprise applications and integrations, including working with REST APIs, webhooks, and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, or equivalent preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based application deployments and integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze complex issues, exercise sound judgment, and develop effective solutions while managing competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with accountability and ownership for assigned systems, integrations, and outcomes.
  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Demonstrated professionalism with a commitment to confidentiality, data security, and ethical standards.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Must not have been excluded by the OIG to participate in federally funded healthcare programs.

  • Office and server room environments at headquarters.
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for projects or emergencies.
