Job Purpose
As we continue to scale in the enterprise Employee Experience market, we are seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer with deep experience supporting complex, multi‑stakeholder enterprise deals across EMEA.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, value articulation, and technical credibility. You will partner closely with Account Executives on high‑impact opportunities, guiding prospects through ambiguity, shaping solution direction, and helping executive stakeholders clearly understand why change matters, why now, and why Unily.
You will act as a trusted advisor throughout the sales cycle, bringing structure to complex buying journeys and ensuring that demonstrations, workshops, and proof points remain relentlessly focused on business outcomes rather than product features.
This role is suited to someone who is confident operating at C‑suite level, comfortable challenging assumptions, and experienced in navigating the realities of large enterprise decision‑making.
Main Responsibilities
- Enterprise Deal Leadership: Partner with Account Executives to lead the solution strategy for complex enterprise opportunities, guiding discovery, shaping deal strategy, and influencing technical and business stakeholders across extended buying groups.
- Value‑Led Discovery & Storytelling: Translate executive priorities, organisational challenges, and strategic initiatives into compelling, value‑based solution narratives. Ensure every interaction clearly links Unily’s capabilities to measurable business impact.
- Executive‑Level Engagement: Confidently engage with senior and C‑suite stakeholders, facilitating conversations that move beyond requirements gathering into alignment, decision‑making, and consensus building.
- Demo & Workshop Excellence: Design and deliver tailored demos, executive readouts, and solution workshops that reflect industry best practice, enterprise‑scale realities, and the customer’s specific context. Avoid feature‑led walkthroughs in favour of outcome‑driven experiences.
- Technical Credibility & Risk Management: Provide clear, pragmatic guidance on enterprise architecture topics including hosting, security, authentication, and integrations. Help prospects and internal teams assess technical risk, complexity, and feasibility without over‑engineering.
- RFP, RFI & Complex Evaluation Support: Lead technical responses for large enterprise RFIs and RFPs, ensuring clarity, consistency, and strong alignment between customer requirements, value positioning, and Unily’s true capabilities.
- Commercial & Cross‑Functional Influence: Act as a senior voice within deal teams, influencing approach, scope, and sequencing. Feed structured learnings back into Product, Marketing, and Enablement to continuously improve how Unily wins in enterprise scenarios.
- Mentorship & Standards: Set the bar for solutions excellence within the team, sharing best practice, supporting peer development, and modelling what “good” looks like in enterprise pre‑sales.
Requirements
- Enterprise Pre‑Sales Experience: Proven experience operating as a Senior Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or similar role within large enterprise, complex sales environments.
- Value Selling & Consultative Expertise: Strong grounding in value‑based selling and consultative discovery, with the confidence to steer conversations away from feature comparison and towards outcomes, impact, and risk.
- Executive Presence: Demonstrated ability to communicate with credibility and clarity at executive level, including explaining complex concepts in a way that resonates with non‑technical leaders.
- Technical Breadth with Judgement: Solid understanding of enterprise technology considerations, paired with the judgement to know how deep to go, when, depending on audience and deal stage.
- Commercial Awareness: Comfort working within deal teams where prioritisation, trade‑offs, and time pressure are real. Able to balance rigor with pragmatism to help deals progress.
- Autonomy & Ownership: Self‑directed, organised, and comfortable making decisions in ambiguous situations, while collaborating closely with Sales and extended teams.
