About This Position
The Opportunity
Luma AI is a full-stack AI lab building the intelligence behind all creative work. We combine the massive capital and compute resources required to train foundational models with the agility of a focused product team. This environment is designed for builders who want to define a new category of software rather than optimize existing ones.
Where You Come In
We’re looking for Senior to Staff level engineers to help build the creative tooling layer at Luma AI that allows users to create, edit, and iterate on AI-generated video and imagery.
While our models are powerful, the real challenge is making them intuitive, fast, and expressive to use. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and design, and will directly shape how creators interact with our technology.
What You Will Build
- Build and iterate on interactive creation workflows for video and image generation
- Design and implement high-performance, responsive UIs for real-time feedback and iteration
- Develop core product experiences including editing interfaces, controls, and creative tooling systems
- Partner closely with design, product, and research to shape user experience and product direction
- Work on 0→1 product development, prototyping and launching new creative capabilities
- Optimize performance, rendering, and responsiveness across the product
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience (Senior level and above)
- Strong experience building user-facing products or interactive web applications
- Proficiency in modern frontend technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript, JavaScript)
- Experience developing highly interactive UI's (e.g., editors, design systems, or complex workflows)
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with design and product teams to deliver polished user experiences
- Experience building and shipping features in fast-paced, product-driven environments
- Strong understanding of performance, responsiveness, and usability in web applications
- Experience working closely with designers and product teams
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
