Responsibilities

Job Summary
The CT Technologist will be a competent individual capable of performing with a minimum of supervision and using independent judgment. He/she must possess the ability to perform CT work on several different types of equipment, so that all work is completed in a timely, competent, and efficient manner. Technologists in this classification must function well together as a team and may be required to train both graduate and student technologists. He/she will be working in a medical environment with much interaction with patients, fellow workers, physicians, and visitors. The technologist will be responsible for all segments of patient populations, including infants, children, adults, and geriatric patients. Work hours can be irregular with the need to work overtime and to accept after hours call-ins. Performs other duties as assigned and helps out in other areas during low volume periods.
Job Requirements
Required Licenses
[Ohio, United States] Radiologic Technologist
Registered as CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist within 1 year employment.
Valid Ohio License as a Radiographer
Minimum Work Experience
Experience of one year in Radiologic Technology preferred.
Required Skills
Current Basic Life Support certification.
The knowledge of computer operation is preferred.
The applicant is able to tolerate long periods of time standing during procedures.
The applicant has the ability to tolerate much bending, stooping, and lifting.
The applicant has the ability to work quickly and accurately under time pressure.
The applicant has the ability to operate new equipment and learn new procedures.
The applicant is mentally alert and physically active
The applicant has the ability to deal tactfully and professionally with physicians, patients, and coworkers.
Essential Functions
Practices the art of computed tomography in accordance with currently accepted ethical and performance standards.
Uses previously established positioning and exposure techniques to produce diagnostic images as necessary.
Conforms to established radiation safety policies and procedures for operator and patient protection.
Performs quality work utilizing the Radiology Accountability And Commitment to Quality (RACQ) in a timely manner.
Assists with radiologist, radiology resident or other physicians as needed for various procedures or circumstances.
Utilizes aseptic technique during patient procedure and intravenous access for CT tests and procedures.
Follows established Kettering Health Network, Medical Imaging Department, Modality and other area policies and procedures as applicable.
Takes inventory of supplies and reports low stock levels to appropriate individual responsible for inventory control.
Provides daily cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
Completes all documentation and charges in EPIC as necessary.
Practices and adheres to infection control policies and procedures.
