Location: Whitewater, WI

Are you a natural leader who likes driving for results? Lavelle Industries is hiring a 1st Shift Assistant Supervisor to support operations at our Whitewater, WI facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who coaches and motivates teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Assistant Supervisor supports the Production Supervisor with daily operations by scheduling employees to production lines, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring efficient workflow. This role emphasizes lean manufacturing, 5S practices, and project-focused work while using data to drive decisions. Strong communication, teamwork, and a problem-solving mindset are essential to meet our operational goals and resolve issues quickly.


As an Assistant Supervisor, the "right fit" candidate can look forward to:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a designated work team, including work assignments, safety, quality, performance expectations, troubleshooting, problem solving, and employee training in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members to share operational information and collaborate with stakeholders to address safety, quality, production, and improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and verify safety, quality, and productivity within the work team while ensuring compliance with PPE requirements, standard work procedures, line clearance, and setup verification processes.
  • Lead and support problem-solving and continuous improvement activities, including evaluating changes to standard work and work area layout utilizing PDSA, and ensuring compliance with TPM and 5S requirements.
  • Coordinate employee training, maintain accurate production reporting as required or in the absence of the supervisor, operate equipment within the work area as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.

Position Skills Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of Manufacturing experience, some lead or management experience is a plus!
  • An enthusiasm for working an extended work week or weekends (this position IS eligible for overtime)
  • An Associate's or Technical Degree is a plus!
  • A desire to be on the move and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Ability to become an authorized driver
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend and use measuring devices.
  • Ability to perform the job and meet production and quality targets on a consistent basis.
  • Complete any additional knowledge, skills, and abilities requirements from department-specific position descriptions.
