Position Summary
The Shot Blast Operator is responsible for operating the shot blast machine. The ideal candidate ensures quality workmanship, adheres to strict safety standards, and functions effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities
• Surface Preparation: Set up and operate cylinder shot blast equipment to remove impurities and prepare surfaces.
• Finishing: Utilize surface grinders to produce a smooth, high-quality finish on all company products as directed by supervisors.
• Product Marking: Ensure all pipe and fittings are accurately marked and labeled in strict accordance with company procedures.
• Material Handling: Safely operate a forklift to move materials throughout the facility.
• Cross-Functional Support: Demonstrate a willingness to assist with various tasks across the shop floor to meet production goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience: Previous experience with shot blasting, grinding, or industrial finishing is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in forklift operation and the use of industrial hand tools.
• Soft Skills: Strong work ethic, a "team-first" attitude, and a self-starting approach to assigned duties.
• Professionalism: Proven track record of punctuality and reliability.
• Growth Mindset: A desire to learn new skills and advance within the manufacturing field.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
• Mobility: Continuous active movement including walking, standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and climbing.
• Strength: Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Protective Gear: Ability to work for extended periods while wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Environment: Working in temperature zones that may include hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where dust is present
