F3 Marina, a division of Founders 3 Real Estate Services, is a leader in professional marina management and consulting services to marina owners anywhere. We are currently looking for a Dockmaster to join our F3 Marina team at the City of Martinez Marina.

The Dockmaster oversees a team of full-time employees providing wet slip docking, fueling, and marina maintenance. This role may have on call requirements and weekend duties as business dictates. This position is a hands-on supervisory role.

Key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Supervision, coordination, training, and evaluation of the dock hand staff to ensure safe, smooth wet slip docking, fueling, maintenance and housekeeping as well as implementation of emergency, storm, fire, first aid, and oil spill procedures.
  • Oversight of grounds, docks, and equipment maintenance to ensure the property is in excellent condition and exceeds our customers’ expectations.
  • Ensure an adequate inventory of all supplies needed to maintain the standards of the property. Keep accurate checklists of maintenance and repairs throughout the marina and grounds to ensure completion and to monitor budget.
  • Assist in hiring, evaluating employee performance, motivating and coaching employees, and addressing customer or tenant concerns.

As a leader on site, the Dockmaster must know all regulations and contractual provisions and enforcement policies and maintain a good working relationship with Federal, State, and Local law enforcement and regulatory agencies.

All marina employees offer exemplary customer service to boaters and visitors to the marina.

Requirements:

Our ideal candidate is an experienced boat operator, possessing strong boat handling skills and experience working at marinas and managing/leading a team. He/she has strong communication skills, customer service & hospitality orientation and organizational skills and experience with computers and technology, to include Microsoft Office products.

  • The Dockmaster must be able to work with tools, equipment, cleaning fluids, chemicals, conduct standard daily checks, equipment maintenance, and other simple routines.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods of time, and lift items greater than 50-pounds from time to time.
  • A valid driver’s license, strong swimming skills, knowledge of overboard procedures, proficiency in VHF base radio operations and CPR and basic first aid training are required.

Certifications: Coast Guard Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (Six-Pack) License preferred.

Additional trade school or boating and business-related courses are preferred.
