Position Overview
The Racquet Sports Coordinator plays a key role in supporting The Medallion Club experience by overseeing programming, member engagement, and daily operations across Tennis, Pickleball, and Racquetball. This position ensures high‑quality instruction, well‑organized activities, and a safe, enjoyable environment for players of all ages and skill levels.
The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about racquet sports, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service and fostering a vibrant, inclusive racquet sports community.
Essential Responsibilities
- Establish racquet sports programming, including clinics, leagues, open play, junior programs, and special events.
- Provide on‑court instruction for beginner to intermediate players in Tennis, Pickleball, and Racquetball.
- Manage daily court schedules, reservations, and member inquiries.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of rules, equipment, and best practices for all three racquet sports.
- Collaborate with the Assistant General Manager and Racquet Sports Director on program development, event planning, and equipment inventory.
- Assist with organizing tournaments, socials, and seasonal racquet sports events.
- Ensure courts, nets, and equipment are clean, safe, and properly set up prior to play.
- Greet members, answer questions, and promote upcoming programs with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Support club‑wide events as needed, contributing to a cohesive and service‑focused team culture.
- Report equipment issues, supply needs, or facility concerns promptly to the Racquets Director or supervisor.
- Break down courts and secure equipment at the end of each shift.
- Demonstrate a commitment to service, teamwork, and upholding club standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in racquet sports instruction, coaching, or program coordination required.
- Strong knowledge of Tennis, Pickleball, and Racquetball rules, gameplay, and instructional techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with members, guests, and team members.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
- Positive, energetic presence with a member‑focused mindset.
- Team‑oriented approach with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to exceeding member expectations.
- Reliable transportation required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and be active on court for extended periods.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments, including heat, cold, and varying weather conditions.
Typical Working Conditions
- Combination of outdoor tennis/pickleball courts and indoor racquetball facilities.
- May include indoor administrative tasks or support for racquets‑related events.
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on programming and member needs.
