SUMMARY: The primary function of this role is to provide technical expertise for solving all types of process issues, and to act as a primary contact with the end customer for all production issues. Primary goals are to support improvement of plant metrics such as downtime, customer PPM, and defects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned:
1. Lead and support equipment troubleshooting events, in collaboration with maintenance and process engineering
2. Participate with project teams to define and develop PLC programs for the plant, with the target to improve key plant measurable related to safety, quality, and productivity
3. Take ownership and maintain documents like FMEA, Control Plan and MTM
4. Perform automation start-up and post start-up support for internal and external customer projects, both on software and hardware side.
5. Organize and lead Kaizen activities each month that are focused on continuous improvement with a team setting
6. Provide internal and external customer project feedback for continuous improvement
7. Support the First-time thru quality initiative while customizing PLC program
8. Work directly with Quality to implement necessary changes due to customer complaints
9. Document and maintain records of projects and PLC revisions
10. Ability to support production if needed on the off-shift and weekends
11. Supports maintenance of ISMS.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience with solid knowledge in programming with Allen Bradley Rockwell Automation Software including Studio 5000,
3. Control Logix/RSLogix 5000, SLC 500/RSLogix 500, ability to program using Ladder Diagram, Functional Block Diagram, UDT Structures and HMI Panels
4. Understanding and application of six sigma-based troubleshooting methods
5. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) to create PLC programs.
6. Experience with system integration and troubleshooting with central controllers, conveyor motor starters, servo driven control systems, and variable speed drives
7. Manage multiple projects with the flexibility of adapting to changing priorities
8. Keyence and Cognex vision systems and sensors knowledge a plus
9. Understanding of lean manufacturing, Just in Sequence, Overall efficiency, line sequencing, KANBAN a plus
10. Demonstrated strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills
11. Demonstrated self-starter and independent worker
