About This Position

Description:

Professional Pump is a family-oriented Midwest based company based in Canton, Michigan. As a result of our growth, we have a need for an Accounts Payable Specialist.

The Accounts Payable Specialist performs detailed accounting duties that require a high level of accuracy and timeliness in recording and reporting of financial transactions related to Accounts Payable, in accordance with company and established accounting policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do

  • Demonstrates and promotes Professional Pump’s core values (Act with Integrity and Respect, Foster Teamwork, Focus on the Customer, Strive for Excellence and Innovation, Project Passion and Energy and Have Fun).
  • Review invoices for proper documentation and approvals.
  • Entry of vendor invoices into company database.
  • Prepare and complete weekly payment processing – check and ACH.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Review vendor statements, research and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Set up new vendors in database and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Review and approve employee expense reports in online system.
  • Assist with monthly credit card reconciliation.
  • Prepare month end accounts payable accrual.
  • Prepare annual 1099’s.
  • Maintain subcontractor paperwork.
  • Assist in annual commercial insurance audit.
  • Assists with other accounting projects and reports; trains other staff in the accounting system as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, bank deposit slips, procedure manuals, and various documents
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • This role primarily involves working in a seated position for extended periods while performing job duties.
