Delivery Driver Assistant – Job Description
Job Title: Delivery Driver Assistant
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (with extended hours as needed)
Reports To: Delivery Manager or Route Supervisor
Job Summary
The Delivery Driver Assistant supports the Delivery Driver with delivery, organization, rotating, and merchandising
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Delivery & Merchandising
  • Assist with unloading products safely and efficiently at customer locations.
  • Organize and rotate product following company standards.
  • Stock shelves, coolers, and displays neatly and accurately.
  • Maintain proper product rotation to ensure freshness.
  • Document shortages, breakage, or customer concerns and report them promptly. Provide friendly, courteous customer service at each stop.
2. Inventory, Documentation & Accuracy
  • Assist in verifying load sheets, invoices, and delivery paperwork.
  • Help ensure product counts match customer orders.
  • Communicate delivery discrepancies or product issues to the Delivery Driver.
3. Safety & Equipment Use
  • Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
  • Operate hand trucks, dollies, ramps, and other delivery equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area inside the truck and at customer sites.
4. General Support
  • Communicate clearly with the Driver, customers, and team members.
  • Assist with organizing vehicle load and unloading at the warehouse.
  • Represent the company professionally on every route.
Qualifications
  • Valid Class R driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old (21 preferred).
  • Ability to use a tablet or handheld device.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable and self-motivated.
  • Ability to follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to repeatedly lift, push, pull, or carry products.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs frequently and occasionally lift items up to 170 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, walk, and occasionally climb during deliveries.
  • Ability to maneuver a loaded dolly in tight spaces.
  • Must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced, customer-facing role.
  • Extended hours may be required based on delivery volume.
  • Occasional weekend or holiday shifts may be needed.
