Recreation - BCH Activities Assistant at Basin Harbor – Vergennes, Vermont

We are now accepting applications for Recreation - BCH Activities Assistant for our upcoming season.

The BHC Activity Assistant will bring guests on guided kayak treks, hikes, bikes and lead other outdoor recreation fun. Rally guests for a game of soccer or kickball, generate excitement about the Pool Party and lead evening programming. Basic knowledge about the outdoors and the local landscape is a plus.

Some essential competencies are: Understanding the need for proper etiquette and service standards, prior children's programming or camp counselor experience preferred, able to take and give clear direction and work in a team environment, attention to detail, efficient, and able to perform multiple tasks systematically in a fast-paced environment, ability to read and follow safety protocols.

This role requires strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as a friendly and engaging demeanor with our guest5s.

A willingness to learn about or have general knowledge about the local area, landscape, and history. Preferred experience leading, guiding or teaching people of many ages and physical skill levels. Maintain a keen interest in outdoor recreation with particular area of interest or expertise (i.e biking, hiking, kayaking, etc)

Current CPR and first aid certification preferred. Employees must maintain a clean, well kept, professional appearance. As well, shift work may be long and varied, including evening and weekends, required full-shift walking and standing. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently.
