The Department of Education and Counseling at Villanova University invites applications for a continuing, non-tenure-track position with the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice to begin in the Fall of 2026. The Education program within the department offers undergraduate and masters-level degrees, certification programs in elementary and secondary education, and two minors in Education. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Professor of Practice will play a critical role in preparing future teachers through:
  • Practice-based instruction
  • Clinical supervision
  • Program development
  • Partnerships with local schools and districts.
This position emphasizes the integration of evidence-based pedagogy, clinical practice, and professional standards to support high-quality teacher preparation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Education
Experience:
  • Extensive professional experience in teaching in the K-12th grade setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
