About This Position

OBJECTIVE / ACCOUNTABILITY

The Production Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting production operations by connecting scheduling, inventory accuracy, and hands-on production support. This position works closely with the Production Manager and production teams to ensure production plans are executed efficiently, inventory levels align with sales forecasts, and operational data is accurate and timely.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, collaboration, problem-solving, and being actively involved in day-to-day production operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Production Responsibilities
    1. Create, manage, and maintain the production schedule.
    2. Communicate regularly with the Production Manager and Production Supervisors/Leads regarding production plans and schedule changes.
    3. Develop production plans that efficiently utilize labor and materials.
    4. Notify the Production Manager of raw material purchasing needs.
    5. Collect production reports from crew leaders and ensure timely and accurate stock conversions.
    6. Maintain accurate production records to support forecasting and future planning.
    7. Track and maintain calibration records.
    8. Collaborate with QC daily on production schedules
    9. Assist with line cleaning and verification for OMRI and greenhouse production runs.
    10. Troubleshoot moisture sensors, scales, and scanners in coordination with the Production Manager.
  • Inventory Responsibilities
    1. Learn and become proficient in the ROSS inventory system.
    2. Perform mix plant updates to create accurate inventory records.
    3. Complete stock conversions accurately and on time.
    4. Spot-check inventory levels for raw materials, empty bags, and fertilizers as assigned.
    5. Cross-train within ERP system to support additional inventory-related responsibilities.
    6. Assist with monthly inventory counts.
  • Labeling
    1. Print pallet labels for production.
    2. Print mix sheets and production orders.
    3. Assist with troubleshooting labeling and printing equipment.
  • Production Support
    1. Provide hands-on support to production operations as needed, including during the off-season.
    2. Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Supervisor.
    3. Support coordinated program communication and promotional efforts to drive sales and improve customer clarity.
    4. Collaborate with sales team on when production will occur for customer specific items
  • General Responsibilities
    1. Follow and support all company policies and procedures.
    2. Demonstrate strong listening, communication, and follow-through skills.
    3. Participate in regular team meetings for communication, coordination, and team development.
    4. Work effectively with team members across departments.
    5. Organize data and responsibilities to support efficient operations.
    6. Report plans, activities, and performance to management in a timely manner.
    7. Monitor performance and take corrective action when needed.
  • Safety Responsibilities
    1. Understand and comply with all company safety policies.
    2. Maintain a high level of safety awareness in personal work and throughout the facility.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Strong computer and system navigation skills.
  • Proficient in both English and Spanish.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCES

  • High school diploma required.
  • One year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Willingness to work 40+ hours per week, including weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
