About This Position

OBJECTIVE / ACCOUNTABILITY

This role provides day-to-day support to production operations, including assisting with scheduling activities, maintaining accurate production and inventory records, and supporting hands-on production needs. The Production Assistant works closely with the Production Manager and production teams to help ensure work is completed efficiently and data is accurate and up to date.

This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Support Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and updating the production schedule.
  • Communicate schedule updates and production needs to supervisors and team leads as directed.
  • Support the execution of production plans by helping coordinate materials, documentation, and workflow.
  • Notify the Production Manager of potential material shortages or issues.
  • Collect and organize production reports from crew leaders.
  • Enter and maintain accurate production data and records.
  • Assist with tracking calibration records and documentation.
  • Support daily coordination with Quality Control as needed.
  • Assist with line cleaning and verification for OMRI and greenhouse production runs.
  • Help troubleshoot basic issues with equipment such as moisture sensors, scales, and scanners, escalating concerns as needed.

Inventory Support Responsibilities

  • Learn and use the ROSS inventory system to support daily tasks.
  • Assist with updating inventory records, including mix plant updates and stock conversions.
  • Complete assigned inventory transactions accurately and on time.
  • Perform spot checks of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods as directed.
  • Support monthly inventory counts and related activities.
  • Cross-train in ERP system functions to assist with inventory processes.

Labeling & Documentation

  • Print pallet labels, mix sheets, and production orders as needed.
  • Ensure production documentation is accurate and available to the team.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting of labeling and printing equipment.

General Responsibilities

  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Participate in team meetings and support a collaborative work environment.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and ask for guidance when needed.
  • Provide hands-on support to production operations as needed.
  • Assist with cross-functional communication between production, inventory, and sales teams as directed.
  • Support special projects and other tasks assigned by the Production Manager or Supervisor.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and report unsafe conditions.
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices at all times.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Strong computer and system navigation skills.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCES

  • Fluency in Spanish + English required.
  • High school diploma required.
  • One year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • 40+ hours per week, including weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
