We are seeking a confident, service-driven Shift Leader to serve as the on-the-floor leader during assigned shifts. This role is responsible for driving service excellence, supporting team performance, and ensuring operational consistency in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
Position Overview
The Bistro Shift Leader acts as the manager on duty for front-of-house operations during scheduled shifts. This individual sets the tone for service, leads by example, and ensures every guest receives prompt, professional, and memorable service that reflects the Childress brand.
Key Responsibilities
-Lead front-of-house operations and serve as primary shift supervisor
-Direct staff assignments and manage floor flow to optimize guest service
-Maintain strong visibility on the floor to support team members and engage with guests
-Proactively address guest concerns with professionalism and urgency
-Coach and hold team members accountable to service standards
-Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and POS protocols
-Oversee accurate completion of opening and closing procedures
-Monitor cleanliness, presentation, and overall Bistro atmosphere
-Complete shift documentation and communicate key updates to management
-Support special events, peak business periods, and winery initiatives as needed
Qualifications & Experience
-1+ year of restaurant leadership, shift supervisor, or management experience
-Strong floor leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct a team
-Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume service environments
-Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills
-Experience with POS systems (Toast experience preferred)
-Passion for hospitality, food, wine, and delivering elevated guest experiences
Physical Requirements
-Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (entire shift)
-Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 45 lbs., including cases of wine and inventory
-Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions
-Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments with varying weather conditions
Schedule Requirements
-Availability to work weekends and holidays
-Flexibility to work occasional evenings and special events
-Must successfully complete background check and drug screening
