This role offers an opportunity to serve as a subject matter expert in cybersecurity certification and authorization, supporting enterprise IT systems in compliance with federal security standards. The Cyber Security C&A Analyst will evaluate, assess, and authorize complex IT infrastructures, including operational technology environments like ICS/SCADA, while ensuring alignment with NIST 800-53 and DoD cybersecurity policies. You will be responsible for analyzing security controls, identifying vulnerabilities, and advising leadership on risk and authorization status. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, providing guidance on compliance and operational security, while leveraging a variety of tools and technologies to maintain robust cybersecurity practices. The role is remote, requires high attention to detail, and contributes directly to the security posture of large-scale, mission-critical IT systems.
Accountabilities:
  • Serve as a cybersecurity SME for the authorization of information systems and associated policies and procedures.
  • Perform assessment and authorization activities in accordance with DoD cybersecurity processes, ensuring compliance with RMF and NIST standards.
  • Determine vulnerability severity and potential impacts on system authorization; brief senior management on findings and recommendations.
  • Conduct site surveys and evaluations of operational technology environments, including ICS/SCADA systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of cybersecurity assessments, findings, and remediation activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support secure implementation of IT systems and cloud computing initiatives.
  • Utilize tools such as eMASS, ArcSight, Stigviewer, SCAP, RSA Archer, ACAS/HBSS, and Microsoft Office applications to support cybersecurity operations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Certification & Accreditation (C&A) experience, including RMF and NIST C&A in DoD environments.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance and eligibility for IT-II designation.
  • DOD 8570.01 IAM Level III certification (CISSP, CISM, GSLC, CCISO).
  • Experience assessing security controls and conducting authorization reviews for large, complex IT organizations.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server, Windows 10, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, and cloud computing platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, actionable guidance verbally and in writing.
  • Desired: prior experience with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) environments and operational technology systems.
