Welder at Amiad USA Inc – Mooresville, North Carolina

The Welder position is accountable for using hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components, or to fill holes, indentations or seams of fabricated metal products. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: various types of welding preparation tasks; welding products; and following customer drawings, specifications or other forms of instructions to create a finished manufactured product according to the designs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Operate safety equipment and follow all required safety guidelines
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, rulers and any other necessary tools to ensure proper assembly
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment
• Operate welding equipment proficiently
• Assemble metal or plastic parts or products
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings, instructions, designs, etc.
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials
• Working knowledge of fixtures and weld set-up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
• Process inspection, certification, and documentation
• Welding equipment maintenance as needed

Experience and Education

• ASME certification
• TIG welding experience a plus

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current welding certification
• 3-5 years of welding experience
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently
• Detail oriented
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly with others
