About This Position

Summary

The Shop Technician helps to ensure that equipment and tools are repaired to specifications and tested. Complete all tasks assigned by the Shop and/or Department Manager. Ideal candidates will have experience working on mechanical equipment. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic (torquing, and tensioning equipment)
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical charts of hydraulic and electrical equipment.
  • Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot mechanical equipment.
  • Accuracy – Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Detail Oriented – Ability to pay attention to the details of a project or task.
  • Safety Awareness – Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety while complying with strict safety standards.

Essential Functions

  • Repair Pumps, tensioners, torque wrenches and anything related to our business, and customers’ request.
  • Test and inspect pumps, tensioners torque wrenches, etc.
  • Test and certify all rental and other equipment as required.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in the equipment.
  • Install new components on customer repairs.
  • Shop maintenance including cleaning, organizing, and securing hand and power tools.
  • Completions, and test certifications.
  • Clean & inspect rental socket boxes.
  • Operate basic hand tools for fabrication and repair.
  • Prepare and stage rental kits, for customer orders, according to sales order.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Operate and preventively maintain warehouse equipment
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Work in accordance with all warehouse safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand and walk for much of the day. Ability to lift 5-25 pounds frequently and ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Is frequently exposed to variable weather conditions. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Worker is subject to frequent heavy lifting.
