About This Position

Job Description:

A LINC Caring Community Site Coordinator will understand and model the mission, vision, and guiding principles of LINC and the Caring Communities by providing supports for families to ensure that adults are employed and that children are safe, succeeding in school, and provided with an out-of-school experience that is fun and educational, provides a sense of belonging and safety, involves parents, and promotes community spirit. Responsible for overall program coordination and supervision of staff to ensure proper staff to child ratios, developmentally appropriate activities, and safety. Includes facilitation of local governance effort involving parents, youth, school personnel, neighborhood residents, and community partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Administration

· Responsible for the supervision, safety, and health of children in the before and after school program at all times. Maintains a clean, orderly, and developmentally appropriate environment at all times.

· Maintains proper staff to child ratios as required by state licensing.

· Determines staff schedules.

· Supervises staff on a daily basis, including regularly scheduled planning and supervision meetings.

· Provide orientation for new staff, and all staff at the beginning of each school year.

· Maintains a safe environment according to the health and safety recommendations outlined in state guidelines.

· Establishes warm and caring environment through use of age appropriate direct and indirect positive guidance techniques.

· Facilitates and participates in a staff planning to design, select, and prepare instructional materials and equipment to meet the varied needs of children.

· Assist with the implementation and evaluates the effectiveness of individual and group instructional activities for children.

· Coordinates the enrollment process, attendance records, and other organizational policies and record keeping systems.

· Submits all required information, including attendance, enrollment, and snack information to LINC on a timely basis.

· Maintains budget and reports on expenses.

· Negotiates contracts and maintains effective working relationships with providers (school principal and/or community-based organization) to implement agreed-upon policies, procedures, and service agreements; and to ensure integrated and effective services.

· Assists in marketing of programs and services offered at the site.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor of Arts in a related field and at least one year experience working with school-age children in formal and/or informal learning environments; or AA Degree in related field or BS/BA in unrelated field and at least three years' experience working with school-age children in formal and/or informal learning environments; or at least 30 hours college credit in a related field, or AA degree in unrelated field and at least four years' experience working with school-age children in formal and/or informal learning environments.
