Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Completions Coordinator / Completions Lead (Commissioning & Startup) to join our value-added client project team in the Edmonton / Sherwood Park area. This contractor role supports disciplined Construction Turnover through Operations Handover, with approximately 50% of time spent in the field conducting system walkdowns.
Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate completions activities from Construction Turnover readiness through CSU turnover support and Operations Handover/documentation closeout.
Act as custodian of the Completions Management Plan (CMP) and Completions Management System (CMS) software; maintain strong working knowledge of completions processes and system scoping.
Organize and facilitate inspections, system walkdowns, turnover validation, and temporary system transfers (Construction to CSU control).
Create, track, and drive punchlist closure discipline, including mitigation planning and deficiency resolution tracking.
Develop, schedule, and manage system walkdown inspections and required walkdown packages.
Develop and maintain the Master Punchlist tracking tool and a post-handover/warranty deficiency list.
Manage test records and turnover documentation, ensuring collection, filing, archiving, and retrieval per CMP/CMS requirements.
Support system validation / ITR efforts and coordinate acceptance documentation for completed systems.
Collaborate with Project, Engineering, Construction, Quality, CSU, and Operations to ensure complete and accurate turnover packages.
Produce daily completions status reporting and coordinate with scheduling to identify misalignment and execution risks.
Read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, SLDs, and loop diagrams to support turnover accuracy and documentation completeness.
Support deficiency “Tiger Team” mitigation through tracking, documentation control, and field follow-up.
Demonstrate HSE leadership by following site safety requirements, participating in safety activities, reporting incidents/near misses, and supporting HAZOP/PSM and PSSR/Operations Readiness philosophies.
Qualifications:
10+ years relevant experience, including 5+ years leading commissioning/start-up completions activities.
Experience supporting Commissioning & Startup for industrial plants (industrial gas, power generation, chemical facilities).
Strong completions background on industrial projects; completions management software experience preferred.
Experience working within high-expectation corporate safety and environmental requirements.
Required certifications (one or more):
Power Engineer (minimum 4th Class), or
Journeyman Interprovincial Red Seal, or
Process Technician/Technologist, or
Professional Process Engineer, or
PMP (Project Management Professional)
Required safety certifications: CSTS-20, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry & Monitoring, WHMIS, H2S Alive.
Strong organizational discipline, documentation control capability, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMS tools.
Strong facilitation and communication skills across Engineering, Construction, CSU, and Operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cryogenic / ASU / syngas / CO₂ capture experience.
Demonstrated success building/maintaining robust turnover packages and leading walkdown readiness under schedule pressure.
Work Environment:
Project field-based role with approximately 50% field walkdowns in varying weather conditions. Frequent walking, bending/crouching/kneeling, driving during CSU/turnover periods, and frequent computer work for CMS administration and reporting. Climbing/fall protection required infrequently. Per diem is not eligible (local role).
