Job Summary
This role supports key quality initiatives, working with functional leadership, engineering, program management and manufacturing. Additionally, the individual will support enterprise procedures, training plans and process monitoring documents, coach others on procedures, and support continuous improvement activities. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of quality systems and processes within an opto-mechanical environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to work with limited supervision, adapt to change, be open to new ideas, handle pressure, and adjust plans and priorities to meet changing schedule needs.
- Manage quality projects with supervision, working with cross functional team members, to ensure timely project completion
- Maintain quality processes and procedures
- Support the execution of strategic initiatives and continuous improvement activities
- Monitor adherence to processes and documented procedures
- Monitor process quality metrics/KPIs for adverse events or trends.
- Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills
- Classify and participate in final disposition of nonconformances.
- Participate in root cause analysis for nonconformances.
- Recommend corrective actions as necessary
- Additional duties as assigned
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
- U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Basic understanding of DoD industry quality processes including Nonconforming Material Control, Root Cause and Corrective Action, First Article Inspection, Purchase Order Quality flow downs, etc.
- Relevant experience supporting the production of high-complexity opto-mechanical products
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO9001, or other quality management systems
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience in investigating technical issues and nonconformance’s to determine root causes and implement effective corrective actions
- Proficient in MS Office and business analytics software such as Qlik, Power BI, etc.
- Good written and verbal communication skills to allow effective communication with both technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to work additional hours, evenings and / or weekends, to meet customer commitments.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- In lieu of degree, minimum 6 years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility, including experience successfully managing various projects.
- 2+ years' experience in a quality role in a government contracting/manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years' experience determining root causes and implementing corrective actions
