POSITION DESCRIPTION
Quality Assurance Analyst
Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for evaluating and testing software applications to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications. This role involves identifying bugs, reporting defects, and working closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
Reports To: Manager, Project Delivery
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze product requirements and create detailed, comprehensive well-structured test cases and plans
- Validate new features, enhancements, and bug fixes before deployment in accordance with the defined release schedule.
- Create and maintain test documentation including test scripts, defect logs, and test summary reports.
- Execute test cases for web and mobile ease of use and customer satisfaction.
- Identify, document, and track defects and trends through collaboration with Business Analysts.
- Work with our Policy system Vendor to troubleshoot and resolve defects found during testing, to fit Utica First standards.
- Perform and document all Sanity, Smoke, Functional and Regression.
- Support testing of API integrations between internal systems and third-party insurance partners or vendors.
- Facilitate release planning, collaboration, execution and documentation of formal signoffs.
- Assist Business Analysts in submitting and analyzing defects and change requests as needed around their scheduled time-off, sick time or extensive influx of requests.
- Track ticket information in relation to defects, change requests and testing documentation
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Familiarity with insurance domain concepts including policy lifecycle, claims processing, underwriting, rating, billing, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Proficiency in test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., TestRail, Jira, HP ALM).
- Solid understanding of database concepts and ability to write SQL queries for data validation.
- Ability to understand insurance business processes and translate them into test scenarios.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in testing web-based insurance portals and mobile applications.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, both in a home and office environment. The role involves frequent use of a headset, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment. Occasional movement within the office may be required, such as walking to meetings or accessing shared equipment.

Pay Range
The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be generally within the posted range but could differ dependent on the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experiences, location etc. as determined throughout the selection process.
