This role provides the opportunity to lead a small but high-impact team of software engineers responsible for delivering scalable and robust consumer-facing systems. You will oversee both frontend and backend development, guiding your team through technical challenges while aligning execution with product strategy. The position involves close collaboration with product, design, and program management teams, enabling you to shape the user experience and operational efficiency. You will mentor engineers, manage project prioritization, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You will play a key role in building systems that enhance the consumer experience while supporting long-term growth.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4–6 software engineers, providing guidance on technical execution, career growth, and performance
- Oversee the development of user-facing applications and backend services, ensuring scalability and reliability
- Collaborate with product, design, and program management teams to align technical work with strategic product roadmaps
- Manage engineering processes, including agile ceremonies, project prioritization, and resource allocation
- Ensure adherence to software engineering best practices, continuous integration, and deployment workflows
- Promote innovation, evaluate new technologies, and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency
- Make routine and moderately complex technical decisions while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including 2–3+ years in a leadership or management role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Proven track record of leading teams in building scalable systems in cloud environments (AWS/GCP)
- Hands-on experience with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, TypeScript/React, containerization (ECS/EKS), serverless technologies, and infrastructure as code (e.g., CDK)
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience mentoring engineers and collaborating across teams
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical contributions and decision-making in ambiguous situations
- Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
- Bonus: Experience in electric power, IoT, or climate-tech industries and familiarity with Terraform or cloud automation tools
