About This Position
Overall goal: Responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of different types of goods from warehouse to warehouse and warehouse to the customer location and visa-versa.
Role Objectives:
• Safely and efficiently transport goods.
• To execute the company policy
• To ensure full compliance with legal OSHA and ISO requirements
Duties and responsibilities
• Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.
• Pick-up and safely transport goods to the intended destination.
• Assist with loading and unloading goods, strapping, etc.
• Ensure contents are properly secured to prevent damage/injury.
• Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries.
• Communicate with the office and/or warehouse as needed.
• Confirm that the contents of each shipment load match the manifest document.
• Perform inspections of your vehicle at the beginning and end of each shift and report any problems or damage to management.
• Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean.
• Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.
• Adhere to company safety rules, regulations guidelines, policies, and site-specific safety plans; comply with DOT regulations.
Environmental, Health & Safety
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment [PPE]
• Participate in company sponsored safety training
• Follow safe work practices
• Report unsafe/hazardous conditions
• Comply with the company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality [HSEQ] Policy, E002
General
• Work on continuous improvement of all facets under your responsibility and document results
• Self-development
• Any other duties for which you are deemed capable of by senior management.
Requirements:
• Current CDL A license
• Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules & regulations
• Adaptability & foresight to handle unexpected situations [traffic, weather conditions, etc.]
• Forklift experience.
• Willing to submit to drug checks.
• Must complete a successful background screen.
• Willing & able to work in a team-based environment.
