Overview
Consor Engineers is seeking a motivated Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our growing Transportation Planning & Design Group in our Draper, Utah office. In this role, you will support the design and delivery of local, county, and state roadway projects, including UDOT highway projects. As a roadway engineering designer, you will assist with geometric analyses, calculations, and preparation of design plans using industrystandard criteria and software. Salary Range: $70,000 – $105,000 DOE
Examples of Current Project Work:
You will have the opportunity to support a variety of transportation projects, including:
- Reconstruction of urban roadways with traffic signals
- Intersection improvement projects
- Roundabout design
- Roadway preservation on highvolume highways
- New multiuse trail projects
This position offers handson learning across project types and phases, providing a strong foundation for your transportation design career.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing typical sections, horizontal & vertical alignments, profiles, layouts, and crosssections
- Support the design team with preparation of design documentation, plan sets, reports, and quantity calculations
- Monitor design work for compliance with engineering standards, codes, and best practices
- Perform engineering calculations and develop cost estimates
Qualifications
- 2+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably in transportation or roadway design
- Proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD), MicroStation, Civil 3D, or AutoCAD (Consor will train candidates without OpenRoads experience.)
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- EngineerinTraining (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe (FE exam passed or scheduled)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
