Lead Emergency Services Technician Water Mitigation
Position Type: Hourly
Reports To: Emergency Services Manager

Position Overview As a Lead Emergency Services Technician Water Mitigation, you are a front-line responder and team leader in water-related emergencies. Reporting directly to the Emergency Services Manager, youll guide and support technicians in executing restoration tasks with precision, while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role requires both hands-on expertise and leadership skills, as you will model best practices, mentor junior team members, and help coordinate on-site response efforts with professionalism and composure.
Key Responsibilities
Lead water mitigation projects from initial response to full completion.
Manage emergency services with professionalism and urgency.
Work directly with insurers, adjusters, and commercial property managers to clearly explain mitigation processes and project scope.
Utilize project management software DASH -(Mica), including documentation, notes, and billing workflows.
Perform thorough site photography, scoping, and documentation.
Apply technical tools such as DocuSketch and MATTERPORT Full View Photos for accurate project records.
Follow industry best practices and IICRC standards for drying and restoration.
Maintain detailed project notes in company systems to support estimating and billing.
Mentor and guide team members in proper mitigation methodology and communication practices.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in water mitigation (residential & commercial).
Full IICRC Certification in water damage restoration.
Strong working knowledge of insurance restoration losses process and documentation for claims.
Proficiency in project management software (Micah or similar).
Skilled in photography, project scoping, DocuSketch, and Matterport reporting.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain mitigation methodologies to clients and stakeholders.
Strong organizational and note-taking abilities for accurate records.
Leadership qualities with ability to manage crews and projects effectively.
Full preparation of pre loss information of the loss to prepare hand-off to estimating teams
Experts with on field supervision with regards to properly expediting files & jobs to finish.
Physical Requirements The Lead Emergency Services Technician must be in good physical health, capable of meeting medical and physical examination standards (including drug screening) and respirator clearance. This role requires stamina to perform and supervise restoration work safely and effectively, including:
Occasional climbing of stairs, ladders, and slopes.
Frequent grasping and handling of tools and equipment.
Periodic kneeling for field assessments.
Frequent standing and walking across varied job sites.
Regular lifting/carrying of 2650 pounds and pushing/pulling of similar loads.
Work Environment
Dynamic and often urgent: expect deployment to residential, commercial, or institutional sites impacted by water damage.
Conditions can be varied, wet, confined, elevated, or indoors/outdoors, requiring adaptability, PPE, and teamwork.
Frequently engaged in emergency response situations, where responsiveness and composure are valued and necessary.
Demands leadership, resilience, and empathy to support both clients and team members during stressful situations. This environment demands physical durability, emotional resilience, attention to safety, and a compassionate approach toward clients during stressful times. Qualifications & Competencies
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3+ years of experience in water mitigation, restoration, or emergency services. Leadership or crew lead experience preferred.
Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
Certified or willingness to obtain relevant credentials (e.g., IICRC WRT, mold or asbestos awareness certifications).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate, train, and motivate team members.
Clear communication skills with supervisors, peers, and clients.
Demonstrated ability to safely manage strenuous physical tasks under time pressure and variable conditions.
