This role is responsible for overseeing and advancing the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework across a complex, multi-functional organization. The position involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating strategic, financial, operational, and regulatory risks while advising senior leadership and the Board on risk strategy. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in technology, finance, operations, legal, and compliance to embed risk management practices into daily business operations and new initiatives. The role includes designing reporting frameworks, defining risk metrics, facilitating governance committees, and supporting business continuity and incident management. This is a high-impact position requiring strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. The role offers an opportunity to lead or mentor ERM professionals while shaping enterprise-wide risk policies in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, policies, and governance processes
- Establish and maintain the organization’s risk appetite, and keep a current enterprise-wide risk register
- Lead comprehensive risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities across strategic, financial, operational, and compliance areas
- Develop and implement mitigation plans, ensuring robust controls and ongoing monitoring of risk exposure
- Prepare executive- and board-level risk reports, dashboards, and key risk indicators (KRIs) tailored to stakeholder needs
- Facilitate risk committees, including materials preparation, reporting, and follow-up actions
- Support incident management, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed risk management practices in operations and new initiatives
- Provide guidance on risk-based design, controls, and processes, and may lead or mentor ERM professionals globally
- 12+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or related fields, with demonstrated strategic and operational impact
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, including Anti-Money Laundering, USA PATRIOT Act, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), OFAC, and FinCEN rules as they relate to financial services or MSBs
- Strong analytical, consultative, and decision-making skills with the ability to assess complex data and business situations
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and build consensus across diverse teams and senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for executive-level presentations
- Experience designing and implementing process-driven solutions for efficiency and oversight
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and AI tools applied to risk management, compliance, or operational processes
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities
- Competitive salary range: $122,210 – $155,000
