TRAINING SPECIALIST SENIOR - Ship's Self Defense System (SSDS) Combat Systems Specialist Trainer

Our work depends on the Training Specialists joining our team to deliver complex technical and tactical training to sailors enrolled in courses taught at Surface Combat Systems Training Command-Hampton Roads (SCSTC-HR) Dam Neck, Virginia.
HOW A TRAINING SPECIALIST SR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
• Develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for customer personnel
• Utilizes exceptional customer skills to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support technical and tactical laboratory training supporting the Combat Systems Specialist and SSDS TAO Courses
• Work as a team member to identify learning gaps and train SSDS operators with knowledge and skills required to direct and coordinate work performed by assigned technicians in the functional integration and operation of all elements of the SSDS Integrated Combat System.
• Work as a team member to complete customer deadlines which may have competing/shifting priorities
• Provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for SCSTC-HR courses supporting the employment of the SSDS
• Conduct dynamic assessment of the sailors' abilities to supervise preventive, corrective, and unscheduled maintenance of SSDS Combat Systems and components, including the use of applicable technical reference material.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Required Experience: Five (5) years of experience as an SSDS operator, Combat Systems Officer of the Watch, Communications/Navigation Electronics Technician, or Combat Systems Maintenance Manager with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment. Of the five (5) years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems is required. Technical experience as a SSDS technician or performing SSDS OCSOT and possessing Master/Afloat Training Specialist certification a significant plus. Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.

• Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills and experience as a Navy instructor (NEC 805A/9502)

The likely salary range for this position is $72,250 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
