About This Position
Job Summary
The Market Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing the market’s loan portfolio, ensuring the quality and profitability of the loan assets while maintaining strong relationships with the clients, credit team and relationship managers. This role involves analyzing loan performance, developing risk management strategies, and maintaining compliance with bank policies and regulatory standards. They will work closely with the bankers, credit officers and office staff to help facilitate deals and to support our sales staff while they are focused on business development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit analysis, excellent analytical and customer service skills, the ability to manage client portfolios that align with the bank’s lending policies, deposit policies and risk appetite while building relationships with clients.
Requirements:Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee the market’s loan portfolio, including commercial, residential, and consumer loans.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the performance and profitability of the loan portfolio.
- Monitor loan performance and work closely with credit and RM teams.
- Facilitate progress on new originations and renewals, and closely work with credit partners to facilitate annual reviews, covenant checks, etc.
- Serve the market relationship managers as their internal loan administrator as needed.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and address their inquiries and concerns. This will include in-person and virtual meetings as well as loan closing as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to enhance client satisfaction and retention.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other members of the lending and credit team to enhance the bank’s overall lending strategy.
- Ensures BSA compliance by reading and being familiar with the BSA/AML program/policy; following all BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures; and completing all BSA/AML/OFAC related online courses.
- Lead market efforts in partnership with the Loan Assistants to collect and image financial and collateral requirements and other tracking information.
- Work with the credit team to direct any Credit Quality and Large Borrower Meetings including review of financial, collateral and covenant exceptions.
- All other tasks, responsibilities, or duties, as directed by management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in loan portfolio management or credit analysis.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Excellent understanding of credit risk assessment and lending practices.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
