This role provides a unique opportunity to serve as the public-facing representative for autonomous vehicle operations within state and local communities. You will build trust, raise awareness, and foster meaningful relationships with government agencies, universities, community organizations, and other stakeholders. The position involves coordinating educational programs, technology demonstrations, and policy briefings, while ensuring consistent messaging across outreach initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including policy, operations, and communications, to support strategic engagement goals. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate complex technical topics into accessible conversations. This position allows for remote work within Texas, offering flexibility and the chance to influence public understanding and acceptance of emerging transportation technologies.
- Represent the organization at community events, town halls, business associations, and local conferences
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with elected officials, government agencies, academic institutions, non-profits, and first responders
- Coordinate informational sessions, facility tours, technology demos, and educational programs to increase community awareness of autonomous trucking
- Conduct policy research and prepare briefs, memos, and summaries for internal stakeholders
- Support legislative tracking, monitoring, and analysis activities
- Manage outreach calendars and proactively identify partnership opportunities
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment and consistency across engagement initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Affairs, Political Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5–7+ years of experience in government relations, legislative affairs, community engagement, or public affairs
- Strong public speaking and interpersonal communication skills, comfortable engaging diverse audiences
- Experience working with elected officials and local or state government agencies preferred
- Community-oriented, approachable, and skilled at building trust
- Clear, confident communicator with strong listening and message-framing abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities
- Organized, proactive, and capable of independently driving outreach initiatives
- Passionate about advancing safe and innovative transportation solutions
