This is a high-impact leadership role focused on guiding a technical pre-sales organization in the application security space. You will lead a team of Sales Engineers who support complex enterprise sales cycles, helping customers understand and adopt advanced security solutions that protect modern software environments. Acting as both a people leader and technical expert, you will shape strategy, improve sales effectiveness, and ensure strong alignment between Sales, Product, and Engineering. The role requires deep expertise in application security and modern DevOps practices, along with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders. You will play a critical role in driving revenue growth while elevating team performance and customer success. - Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Sales Engineering team, fostering technical excellence and strong customer engagement.
- Act as a player-coach, providing hands-on technical guidance and supporting complex enterprise sales cycles and customer interactions.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for technical challenges, ensuring timely and effective resolution for both team and customer needs.
- Define, track, and optimize team performance metrics, pipeline coverage, and alignment with broader sales objectives.
- Partner closely with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering leadership to influence strategy and drive product adoption.
- Develop and standardize scalable sales engineering processes, tools, demos, and technical enablement materials.
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of Sales Engineering talent.
- Support strategic initiatives by translating customer feedback and field insights into product and go-to-market improvements.
- 10+ years of experience in application security, with strong expertise in AppSec domains such as SAST, DAST, IAST, and RASP.
- At least 5 years of experience in a customer-facing Sales Engineering or pre-sales technical role.
- Minimum 2+ years of leadership or team management experience within a technical organization.
- Strong hands-on technical background with ability to engage in architecture-level and code-level discussions (Java and/or .NET preferred).
- Deep knowledge of SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical sales cycles and influence both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong mentoring mindset with ability to develop and scale high-performing technical teams.
- Ability to travel up to 40% as required for customer and team engagement.
