Intern - Laboratory - Lab-Core at Lima Memorial Health System – Lima, Ohio

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, and policies and procedures, the Laboratory Assistant processes specimens for analysis in accordance with defined standard operating procedures, performs waived testing according to CLIA-88 Standards under direct supervision, manages reagent inventory, performs daily equipment maintenance, departmental cleaning and decontamination, and other duties as directed by the department supervisor.

Education: High School diploma or GED. Must be actively pursuing a degree in Medical Technology, Biology (preferred), Chemistry, or another science-based field.

Licensure/Certification: None required.

Experience: None

Skills: Must have excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with all customers including patients and staff.
