Performs a variety of specialized cardiac laboratory duties to assist in the evaluation and treatment of cardiac patients. Compiles patient history and preps patient for procedures.
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Obtains and reviews patient history information prior to testing. Prepares patient and explains procedure. Answers patient questions within scope of authority and alerts the physician or nurse to questions or concerns requiring their attention.
2. Edits directories and performs computer tasks in MUSE cardiovascular information system.
3. Performs exercise tolerance stress testing, including patient prep and explanation, under the direction of the physician. Monitoring vital signs during procedure.
4. Performs cardiac monitor analysis and notifies covering Licensed Independent Practitioner of abnormal findings. Complete end of study report and assigns to appropriate provider.
5. May assist APP by monitoring patient during Implantable Loop procedure. Set up/breakdown of procedure room.
II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. High school diploma or certificate.
2. BLS certification.
Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Demonstrated proficiency in performing cardiac monitor analysis.
2. Ability to effectively utilize computer information systems.
3. Demonstrated analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to provide information to patients, and to prepare accurate documentation.
Preferred:
1. Minimum of one year of responsible experience in cardiac testing.
This position is every fourth weekend and Holidays
