General Job Description
Dogwood is seeking an Inventory Supervisor to join our team. The core mission of the Inventory Supervisor is to oversee all day-to-day operations related to receiving, warehousing, and inventory control. The Inventory Supervisor maintains accurate material flow throughout the company, monitors proper inventory levels, and safeguards data integrity within inventory systems. This role also acts as a critical communication link between Production, Project Management, and Procurement, providing timely information, resolving discrepancies, and supporting company-wide operational efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
Receiving
- Maintain a calendar of incoming materials and develop plans for the off-loading of materials.
- Oversee the receiving process by ensuring all inspections, documentation, and system entries are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure shipments are accurately verified against purchase orders and packing slips; ensure that any discrepancies are identified and addressed promptly.
- Communicate receiving-related issues and material availability updates to Production, Project Managers, and Procurement to support scheduling and workflow continuity.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient receiving area by enforcing proper handling practices, workflow standards, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor receiving performance, address bottlenecks, and adjust priorities to ensure efficient material flow into warehousing and production.
Warehousing
- Oversee warehouse organization and material storage to ensure efficient layout, proper handling practices, and consistent workflow execution.
- Ensure materials are stored, tracked, and moved according to established procedures to maintain accuracy, accessibility, and efficient warehouse flow.
- Monitor warehouse space utilization and adjust storage strategies as needed to maintain organization, efficiency, and accessibility.
- Enforce warehouse safety standards, equipment practices, and operational procedures to ensure a secure and compliant working environment.
- Coordinate warehouse activities with Receiving, Production, and Inventory Control to ensure smooth material flow and minimize delays.
- Monitor warehouse team performance and workflow effectiveness, providing direction and adjustments to maintain accuracy, productivity, and operational standards.
Inventory Control
- Oversee inventory accuracy by ensuring all transactions, adjustments, and material movements are recorded correctly and completed in a timely manner.
- Monitor cycle counts and physical inventory activities, ensuring discrepancies are investigated, resolved, and prevented through improved processes.
- Ensure inventory data integrity by reviewing system records, identifying inconsistencies, and driving corrective actions to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Monitor inventory levels and usage trends, ensuring adequate stock availability and coordinating with Production, Project Managers, and Procurement when adjustments are needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Communication
- Maintain consistent communication with Project Managers to provide clear updates on inventory status, material availability, and potential risks to project timelines.
- Coordinate with Production to align material priorities and ensure inventory activities support daily and long-term operational needs.
- Communicate inventory discrepancies, usage trends, and replenishment needs to Procurement to support accurate purchasing decisions.
- Ensure consistent information flow between Receiving, Warehousing, and Inventory Control so all departments remain aligned on material movements and requirements.
Requirements
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of receiving, warehousing, and inventory processes.
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication skills across departments.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of warehouse safety and material-handling best practices.
- Fluent in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or materials management.
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
AND
- Familiarity with manufacturing, production, or project-based environments.
- Experience improving processes or implementing workflow efficiencies.
- Exposure to continuous improvement practices (Lean, 5S, or similar).
- Analytical ability to interpret data and support decision-making.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 50 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment. The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Compensation
$39.00 - $45.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Location
This is an onsite position based out of the Dogwood Factory at 3200 35th Ave. NE Everett, WA 98201. Travel to Dogwood’s Corporate office in Bothell and Sedro-Woolley Factory may be required.
