About This Position
Job Title: Electrical Engineering Intern
Reports to: Engineering Co-op/Internship Coordinator
Position Description; include duties, responsibilities and learning objectives
The candidate will assist the engineering department with product and R&D related projects. Typical projects involve specialized compressor and refrigeration devices; and their associated components. The products are electro-mechanical devices/systems which involve solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, metal/plastic components, pressure vessel components, and piping/valve pressure components. The electrical systems involve temperature, pressure, flow, power measuring devices; microprocessor based controllers, power devices and circuits and communication devices and protocols. The duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the mentor/engineer and task assignment.
There will be numerous engineering activities (below) that will be available to the candidate.
1. Electrical and electro-mechanical component and system design
2. Research vendors for specific components and designs
3. Leading vendor searches and technical investigations
4. Producing specifications for products and components
5. Modifying and/or producing manufacturing, QA and engineering procedures
6. Author technical reports
7. System, power, control circuit, logic and program analysis
8. Electrical / instrumentation fixture design
9. Producing test plans
10. Setup and performing laboratory tests
11. Assisting with system and component tests
The engineering department interfaces with the manufacturing plant and manufacturing engineering on a regular basis. Other interfaces include QA/QC, Procurement and Service.

Academic Requirements
2nd, 3rd or 4th year Electrical Engineering Degree Program
GPA of 2.8 or higher

Qualifications and Requirements
- Full-Time Undergraduate student currently attending a regionally accredited four (4) year college or university majoring in one of following engineering disciplines (Industrial, Materials, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Structural, Industrial Engineering Technical, Industrial Management).
- Strong academic performance (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above)
- Motivation to learn new skills, with passion for engineering and the drive to obtain results
Other Characteristics:
- Able to work full-time (40 hours per week, M-F, 8am-5pm) & onsite for a defined period of 10-12 weeks.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and active listening skills.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. Interest and ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills and attention to detail; demonstrated ability to self-manage multiple projects, prioritize requests, and meet deadlines.
