Job Summary:
CPS is looking to hire talented staff to join our team in providing diagnostic assessments and crisis intervention to an inmate population. Individuals must possess the ability to interrelate and work effectively with mental health staff, medical personnel, and administration.
Responsibilities:
- Provides diagnostic assessment, crisis intervention and psycho-therapeutic services to an inmate population.
- Responsible for completing progress notes and ensuring that documentation meets quality standards.
- Interrelates and works effectively with other mental health services staff, medical personnel, CPS administration, inmates and outside support agencies.
- Maintains a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors in accordance with CPS/County established policies and procedures.
- Participates fully in all site-based performance improvement activities in accordance with job responsibilities.
- Promotes effective working relations as pare of a department/unit team to facilitate the department/units to meet its goals and objectives.
- Attends required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
- It is an essential part of the job that CPS can ask the employee to work beyond his/her regularly scheduled hours.
- Follows all security rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Schedule:
Every other Saturday
Requirements:Qualifications & Education:
- Must be independently licensed (LCSW, LPC)
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field required.
- Mental health counseling: 1 year (Preferred)
- Previous correctional experience (Preferred)
- Must be able to pass a facility background clearance
- CPR Certification (Required)
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move over 35 pounds.
- Regularly able to adequately perform CPR.
