This operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient assembly of our cabinets.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Identify the order sequence and stage product for builders
- Ensure supplies for the day are stocked at area to prevent delaying assembly
- Using jigs and templates, install drawer guides and rails
- Using jigs and templates, install finished doors and install handle hardware
- Using jigs and templates, install drawers and install handle hardware
- Flexibility to move from one role to the next depending on line and business needs
- Safety wrap completed cabinets for storage or delivery
- Identify quality issue with own work and/or product in assembly process
- Identify safety issues and report to Group Lead
- Mark completed orders in Salesforce to update build schedule
- Clean the work area throughout the shift.
Essential Skills
- Basic understanding of hand tools, including a chop saw, pneumatic nail and staple guns, cordless power drills and screwdrivers
- Ability to read and comprehend drawings and company paperwork
- Able to use tape measure
- Able to perform to production demands
- Ability to determine common quality defects in material
- Ability to perform other duties requested or required by management
- Follow directions and instructions - coachable
- Work well with other employees
- Follow safety guidelines
- Ability to work overtime when needed
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
- Remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Move about the factory floor to access machinery, materials, and product storage.
- Transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Operate, activate, and use production machinery and hand tools that require repetitive
motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Detects and inspect parts for quality control at close vision (less than 20 inches) and assess safety hazards from a distance (20 feet or more).
The employee will be exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level can be loud and will work around moving mechanical parts. Regular exposure to airborne particles and temperature fluctuations should be expected. The use of appropriate PPE is required.
