About DESRI
DESRI (formerly D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments) is a market-leading owner and operator of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. We have acquired or developed approximately 11.9 gigawatts of contracted capacity across a portfolio of over 80 renewable energy projects in 24 states.
About the role
We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join DESRI, based out of the firm’s office in Hyderabad, India. The successful candidate will be a part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of wind, solar and battery projects in an agile environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.
What you'll do
In this role, you will support US-based attorneys and India legal team on a wide range of legal and contractual tasks, including
- Reviewing, summarizing standard commercial contracts (including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and other agreements) based on established templates, internal playbooks and guidance.
- Contract abstractions, and support due diligence work by organizing documents, administrative and legal filings, reviewing contracts for key terms, and flagging deviations or risks for legal review.
- Maintaining and updating legal trackers, databases, and document repositories to support internal workflows.
- Assisting with standard document formatting, version control, and execution support.
- Identifying missing information, inconsistencies, or deviations from standard templates and escalating them to appropriate team members.
Qualifications
- A graduate degree in business administration, commerce, management, law or a related field with a proven record of academic achievement and 2-3 years of experience in document management, commercial contract reviews, operations support, and abstraction work.
- Law degree is not mandatory.
- Prior experience in a documentation-heavy, process-oriented environment such as contract management, compliance operations, shared services, consulting, LPOs, or corporate operations teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured review guidelines, defined workflows. and escalation protocols.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with experience using legal technology tools, including AI-based platforms and document automation systems, or demonstrated willingness and aptitude to quickly learn such tools.
- Ability to work effectively with US-based legal teams in a cross-border environment and work across time zones.
