We are currently seeking seasonal Harbor Store Attendants to join us for our upcoming Harbor Store season, Mid June to Labor Day.

Basin Harbor offers Food and Beverage options as well as retail items at several locations. The Breezeway Café and our Harbor Store offer custom crafted coffees, freshly baked pastries, ready-made food, snack, ice cream and some small giftware items. All our retail locations can be very busy guest areas and you will be expected to provide exceptional service and information to guests of all ages.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for opening and closing the shop daily, including balancing the receipts and creating a float.
• Maintain a clean shop, arrange displays, and present the merchandise to attract sales and enhance the appearance of the shop and the Basin Harbor property.
• Promote sales by using suggestive selling techniques. Ensure that the shop is kept clean, and that displays are attractively merchandised to promote sales.
• Protect assets against losses and shoplifting.
• Handle all cash transactions accurately. Follow proper procedures for credit card and room charge transactions and obtain proper identification and department information for all associate discounts. Adhere to the hotel cash handling policies. Practice proper register operation procedures.
• Maintain communication with the Retail Manager in order to keep abreast of all shop related problems, customer requests and fast moving items to maximize sales and guest satisfaction.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
• Inventory weekly, reporting to the Retail Manager, and receive product orders.

Essential Qualifications and Competencies:

• Must be organized and able to multi-task
• Great conversation skills. This is a very busy guest area and you will be expected to engage with guests of all ages.
• Must be honest beyond reproach
• Exceptional customer service skills are required
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must be able to adapt to changes in a fast paced, dynamic, and sometimes intense work environment
• Must be willing and able to pass a background check
