Lake Wildwood is an active, gated community located about one hour northeast of Sacramento in the historic Gold Rush foothills of Nevada County.


About the role

  • To repair and maintain, in good working order, all vehicles and equipment used by the Public Works and Golf Maintenance Department. To assist other crews on an as-needed basis. Reports directly to the Fleet and Equipment Manager.
  • Pay Range is $26.50/HR to $28.00/HR DOE

What you'll do

Job Requirements:

a. Changes oil and lubes equipment as scheduled

b. Does minor tune-ups as needed or scheduled.

c. Does unscheduled repairs as needed.

d. Safety checks equipment as scheduled.

e. Monitors tire wear.

f. Complies with EPA Hazardous Waste Regulations for handling and disposal of hazardous materials [waste] such as oil, lubes, cleaners and etc.

g. Keeps up-to-date service records on all equipment. Does welding and machining necessary for fabrication and maintenance of equipment and construction items for Public Works and Golf Maintenance Department projects and maintenance requirements.

h. Fills in where and when needed by other crews.

i. Estimates job cost as requested by the Fleet and Equipment Manager.

j. Keeps record of man hours on individual tasks as required by the Fleet and Equipment Manager.

k. Obtains bids for equipment-related purchase and/or outside maintenance repair vendors.

l. Measures fuel in storage tanks as required by the Public Works Superintendent.

m. Orders fuel and oil as needed.

n. Maintains an inventory of parts and supplies necessary for routine equipment maintenance.

o. Conducts major required repairs including engine overhaul, transmission repair, axle and differential work.

p. Coordinates with Public Works and Parks & Golf Departments to assure mission completeness.

q. Maintains scheduling, record keeping and actual repair and maintenance of Public Works and Golf Maintenance equipment and vehicles.

r. Any other duties that may be required and/or assigned by the Fleet and Equipment Manager.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

· Must have five years minimum experience in auto, truck, and construction equipment repair, both gas and diesel

· Must be proficient in welding (Acetylene, Arc, TIG).

· Must have demonstrated the ability to interact and get along with others.

Certificates/Licenses:

· Must possess a Valid California Driver’s License free of infractions.

· Automotive Service Excellence certification preferred.

Language/Communications:

· Ability to read, write, and speak English is required.
