About This Position

Description:

Manufacturing Technician

Get Spiffy Inc. is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Technician to assemble, test, and document our custom equipment. This is a production-focused role where you'll spend most of your time building and refining systems, with a critical emphasis on capturing clear, accurate process documentation. Roughly 80% of your time will be spent assembling, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting production units. The remaining 20% focuses on documentation—creating and updating build procedures, work instructions, and test records. We need someone who can move fast on the floor and write clearly enough that others can follow your work. This is an in-person position and regular attendance is required.

SHIFT: 8am-4pm (with flexibility) Mon-Fri

PAY RATE: $20-$30/hr DOE

Requirements:
  1. Assembly & Test Work (˜80%)
  • Assemble, wire, and bring up production units using engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Perform functional testing, diagnostics, and quality checks on electrical and mechanical subsystems.
  • Identify build issues, root causes, and potential improvements during assembly and testing.
  • Execute rework, tuning, or adjustments to ensure systems meet performance standards.
  • Support production cycles by preparing jigs, fixtures, materials, and tools.
  1. Documentation & Process Support (˜20%)
  • Create and maintain detailed build documentation, work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Capture lessons learned and update procedures to reflect current best practices.
  • Provide structured feedback on manufacturability and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineers to validate changes and refine designs.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of hands-on assembly, production, or technician experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to document processes clearly—writing instructions others can follow without confusion.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for precision work.
  • Proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides for documentation and reporting.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Associate's degree or technical training in a relevant field preferred
  • Experience with basic CAD skills (Fusion 360 preferred) a plus
  • Preference will be given to those with previous experience in automotive or vehicle upfit experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work primarily in a shop/garage environment with concrete floors
  • Exposure to varying temperatures depending on facility climate control
  • Work around vehicle exhaust fumes, electrical systems, and installation materials
  • Moderate to loud noise levels from power tools and equipment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods;
  • Must be able to lift and move inventory items and other work-related items (up to 50 pounds);
  • Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods;
  • Must be able to push, pull, bend at the knees and waist, lift, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as
