Job Overview:

This course will provide an in-depth look at the theory and professional role of a Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician,

Students who fulfill their course requirements will be equipped with the knowledge base to take the IAHCSMM sponsored CRCST certification exam and will be well-prepared for the subsequent clinical hours that are mandatory in order to become a professional in the Central Sterile Reprocessing field,

This course will also introduce and familiarize students with the various surgical instrumentation used in patient care areas,

Students will also learn to understand the differences in instrument application based upon surgical service / procedure,

Students will ultimately develop a deep understanding of the critical importance Central Sterile has in patient safety and infection control and be fully prepared to enter the field as a medical professional.
