Preconstruction Director - Commercial Paint (required)

Purpose of the Role
To take full responsibility of the estimating and business development departments by allocating, tracking, and managing bids, personnel, and sales.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Directly manage all commercial paint preconstruction managers, estimators, and business development staff, including oversight of vacation, performance reviews, and professional development.
  • Lead and mentor Preconstruction Managers and their teams to ensure operational excellence and accountability to KPIs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in paint to provide guidance to clients on scope items and technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of markets, pricing trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Set, monitor, and achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly sales and performance reports to leadership.
  • Manage workload projections and allocate resources effectively across projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers; understand their project types and business needs.
  • Assess project opportunities, selecting appropriate bids and pursuits aligned with company strategy.
  • Oversee bid reviews, including scope analysis, bid forms, and pricing.
  • Conduct needs assessments and lead recruitment efforts to grow and strengthen the team.
  • Ensure consistent review and management of bids, pricing, and project profitability.
  • Track and report on performance scorecards, including Core Targets, sales goals, profitability benchmarks, and KPIs.

Qualifications:
  • 8+ years experience in the construction industry
  • Competent with technology and programs PlanSwift, Plan Grid, Building Connected & MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Graduate in engineering, architectural or construction management program, preferred
  • 5+ years experience managing preconstruction teams
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
