Job description:
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor to join our team in Northwestern Pennsylvania. Core Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct all aspects of Shipping and Receiving operations to ensure efficient output and on-time delivery of quality products to customers.
- Recommend and implement improvements to work methods and procedures.
- Track and monitor inventory of finished goods and raw materials to ensure proper stock levels.
- Address customer inquiries regarding shipment progress and collaborate with Customer Service to resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding safety, quality, and conduct.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of shipping and receiving equipment such as forklifts, conveyor systems, and other related tools.
- Lead, develop, and motivate a team of hourly employees by fostering initiative, maintaining high-quality standards, and providing regular and constructive performance feedback.
- Train new employees and provide cross-training opportunities for existing team members.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Production, and Procurement to prioritize and expedite shipments and coordinate material flow.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of four years of leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing logistics, preferably in automotive supply or similar industries.
- Proficiency in modern logistics and inventory management software or ERP systems.
- Experience managing employees in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving, with a focus on delivering systemic improvements.
- High emotional intelligence and exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees, leadership, and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams while driving process improvements.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics management, business, or a related field is preferred.
