About This Position
$5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR FULL-TIME CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANTS
WITH AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS A MEDICAL ASSISTANT
Note: The compensation range noted above represents the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Holyoke Medical Center is an independent community hospital that has served the healthcare needs of the Pioneer Valley for over 125 years. We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient-centered care. Our team is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to float between all practices as needed to perform duties within the scope of responsibility of a medical assistant, with additional tasks related to patient flow in the office. Overview of responsibilities include but are not limited to:-
Provide age-appropriate, developmentally appropriate care to all patients.

Assist with patient intake, including escorting patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting visit history, and preparing patients for provider exams.

Maintain accurate patient records, including allergies, medications, family history, and refill requests.

Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and notify them of appointment delays.

Coordinate patient check-out by arranging follow-up appointments, diagnostic tests, and referrals.

Ensure patients receive instructions and necessary paperwork for testing, procedures, or follow-up care.

Document and track referrals, diagnostic tests, and clinical services for follow-up.

Support providers during patient exams and assist with clinical procedures and treatments.

Prepare and maintain medical supplies, equipment, and instruments for patient care.

Review patient charts and lab results, and communicate normal results to patients as directed.

Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas by stocking supplies and ensuring cleanliness between visits and at day’s end.

Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with patient registration as needed.

Participate in patient education activities and ongoing staff training.

Monitor inventory, maintain equipment, and report any malfunctions to management.
