POSITION OVERVIEW
The Operations Supervisor provides support to the Director of Operations with the supervision of the overall program operations, including ensuring timely execution of facility schedule, safety, and client living/services. Provide shift and task supervision of the Operation’s Aides. The Operations Supervisor position requires an individual who consistently works to improve the activities of daily living skills of clients, ensures the residential program is running smoothly, ensures services meet the expectations and needs of the clients and staff, and maintains the program supply inventory (client needs and client cleaning supplies). With support and direction from the Director of Operations, this individual is responsible for the oversight and implementation of systems and allocation of resources for the purpose of updating and maintaining the operational functions of the program, to the highest standards.
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervise Operations Aides, participates in the hiring, training, and disciplinary process including recommendations for termination.
- Participate in the ongoing review and annual evaluation of staff performance, including completion of annual talent reviews.
- Conduct routine supervision of staff and ensure proper documentation reflected for all meetings.
- Coordinate and verify client movement with operations aides and counseling staff.
- Ensure clients participate in chores. Work with operations aides to provide client community assignments.
- Document status of facility in the communication logbook and through the monthly facility inspection process.
- Monitor client conduct and overall behaviors during their shift.
- Coordinate with admissions, Director of Operations, and Program Director for client room changes, group room assignments, and community space activities
- Assist with conducting searches for contraband or unapproved items, according to the established organizational policy.
- Conduct and maintain inventory of supplies including but not limited to, linen, toiletries, clothing, etc.
- Assist with new client orientation to the facility.
- Assist with rounds on a regular basis to assess client’s behavior and ensure their ongoing safety, and the cleanliness of the facility. Report any room needs to the facilities manager though a work order.
- Participate in weekly House Meetings with the clients to discuss and address any needs or issues.
- Participate in various meetings (daily huddle, case conferences, multidisciplinary team meeting).
- Along with the Director of Operations, develop coverage schedule and ensure coverage is obtained for all operations shifts.
- Work alongside the facilities team to address any concerns with client rooms or common spaces.
- Ensure all incidents are reported upon discovery, following the incident reporting policy and protocols.
- Assist the Director of Operations and the Program Director to address and investigate client and staff complaints.
- Develop and implement crisis prevention and/or intervention strategies to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Troubleshoot client and direct reporting staff program problems, and make decisions in accordance with program policies, procedures, and protocols, and with guidance from the Director of Operations, as needed.
- Provides assistance and follow-up in regard to critical incidents with clients.
- Ability to work with a strong team of professionals in a culturally diverse environment.
- Ability to multitask and function under pressure.
- Preforms other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in OASAS program. Experienced in Residential settings preferred.
- Minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in managerial positions

- Obtain within six months of hire:
- Supporting Recovery with Medications Addictions Treatment (MAT)
- Strong leadership and excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience in staff training and development
- An understanding of funding and industry regulations and a track record of meeting compliance standards
- Ability to work with a strong team of professionals and in a culturally diverse environment
- Ability to multitask and to work and function under pressure
- Must have excellent customer service skills and able to develop internal and external resources and relationships.
